About Husky Höskulds
Husky Höskulds is a Los Angeles based recording engineer/mixer. Since moving to LA in 1991, he has worked his way up from assistant to grammy winning engineer. From the first major label efforts in the engineer's seat (Michael Penn's MP4 and the Wallflowers' Breach) Husky has always been on the cutting edge of technology.
The last few years of mixing on the large format analog consoles saw Husky blending the vintage API of Los Angeles' Sound Factory with his own portable rig using Logic and Plogue Bidule, RME hardware, and plugins from Audioease and several of his own Reaktor creations to make a unique sound bridging the gap between old and new.
Some of the last projects on the analog consoles included the multilayered Fantomas albums "Delirium Cordia" and "Suspended Animation" as well as the cinematic "Vincent and Mr Green" and Tom Waits' "Blood Money". Since then, Husky has sampled, moved or created IR's of all the gear and moved into the ever creative world of mixing AND mastering 'In the Box' (for lack of better term!).
Having built identical mixing / mastering rooms in Los Angeles and Reykjavik (Iceland) Husky continues to push the limits of technology - now working in all digital facilities, he continues to make records as diverse, sonically, as ever.
