Funkagenda

Funkagenda is a DJ/Producer/Engineer from the UK. He produces mainly house, tech house, techno and a sprig of minimal. "I started producing back when massive workstations like the Korg 01W and the Yamaha SY99 stalked the earth. My father and grandfather used to have a club act doing rock and 60s/70s covers and went to amazing lengths to make their backing sequences sound like the originals. I used to help them out, playing a few notes here and there and got involved in trying to make patches. My love for sequencing came really from that. Every instrument I got after that I wanted to know how to push to its limit!"

Funkagenda started making house music in the early 'Noughties' and over the last four years, he has carved a bit of a name for himself. More recently, he teamed up with Toolroom Records boss and DJ/Producer Mark Knight and last year our cover of Laurent Garnier's 'Man With The Red Face' was an absolute monster... "Even I got sick of it!", says Funkagenda. Currently, he's working on a barrage of new material, plus the first installment of a sample CD range.

"I found out about FabFilter when I first got my Mac G5 and was auditioning filter plug-ins. I came across FabFilter Volcano and its potential just blew me away. Since then I have used all of the plugins on a regular basis."

When you REALLY get involved with programming on this badboy, you can produce sounds that would shatter magma or rip your Nan in half. It's SO essential I have 3 instances of it already assigned on my Logic + Ableton templates".

"Then FabFilter Simplon: This is AWESOME. It's just a filter... simple... but probably the best sounding filter I have ever used. And its SOOOOO smooth. I like the sound of this to the old Mutronics Mutator... the rez is fat and the low pass 24hz setting on the filter can shake a donkey's teeth loose".
