Tony Doogan

Tony Doogan is a record producer and studio owner in Glasgow, Scotland. He started his carreer in Glasgow's Cava Studios in 1990, working as an assistant on records by John Martyn, The Fall, Teenage fanclub, Deacon Blue, Wet, Wet, Wet and many others.

"I progressed onto engineering and then onto being a producer for bands such as Belle and Sebastian, The Delgados and Mogwai. This earned me a reputation further afield and led me to work with artists such as Super furry Animals, Wintersleep, Dirty Pretty things and many others."

Currently Tony is working on his 10th album of the year, which have included 65daysofstatic, Withered Hand, The Vaseline's, Moderndog (Thailand) and right now Greek artist Leon Vermis. Tony also recorded two soundtracks this year, one of which is for the BBC Hebrides program and one for the upcoming film Starred Up. It's co-written with the director David Mackenzie and very influenced by the sounds and musicality of the rock and soul records made in the 60's and 70's.

Tony Doogan and FabFilter

"I found out about FabFilter plug-ins on the Gearslutz forum. I was searching for some new plugin EQ's and compressors to replace the basic HPF on Protools and also to have a good and smooth sounding compressor I can leave in on tracks to help control dynamics before they hit my board."

"I'm very impressed with the flexibility of FabFilter Pro-Q! Als the compressor, FabFilter Pro-C, has been a big surprise. I've had mainly bad experiences with digital compressors but this is something I can really use to give a sound some shape. Top Marks!"
