Twin 3 is equipped with a full-featured arpeggiator. The arpeggiator automatically
triggers notes on a synchronized tempo, according to the keys you are holding down.
The following controls are available:
Enable: The enable button, centered in the Rate knob, turns the arpeggiator on or off. When enabled, it will start playing notes once it has been triggered by
pressing down keys.
Lock: With the Lock button on, the arpeggiator settings won't change when
loading presets.
Rate: The Rate knob sets the arpeggiator speed, ranging from 0.25 to 20 Hz.
Sync: You can also choose to sync the arpeggiator to host tempo at various different
rates. When synched, the rate knob will turn into an offset knob, to multiply the synched
tempo with a factor from 0.5 to 2.
Retrigger: The Retrigger button (with the MIDI icon) sets how the arpeggiator phase is
synced/started. When off, the arpeggiator's pattern phase is based on the position on
the DAW's timeline, but when active, the arpeggiator will restart the cycle on the first
note that is pressed.
Groove: Using the groove slider, you can offset every second note in the produced
rhythm. Using this, you can easily created dotted/tripplet like patterns. Simply drag the highlighted large middle note symbol to the left or right.
Legato: The legato slider (underneath the large note symbols) sets the note length, from very short to fully legato.
Transpose: By default, the arpeggiator will just play the notes for the keys you
are holding down. But with transpose settings of 1 or 2 octaves, the arpeggiator additionally
plays the notes one or two octaves higher.
Note Order: The order of how the held notes are sequenced by the arpeggiator. With
the Up and Down options, notes will be played from lowest to highest or reversed.
To have the notes played from lowest to highest and then back again, use the Up/Down
option. Otherwise, the arpeggiator can play the notes in the order As Played or in
Random order.
Latch: By default (the Off option), the arpeggiator will only play notes that
are currently held down. By choosing the Held latch option, the arpeggiator remembers
all notes that have been pressed while any note was held down, e.g. you can just hold
down one note, and then add others to the pattern one by one. When set to Full latch,
the arpeggiator will remember any note that you play and will keep playing them even after
you stop holding any notes.
At the top right of the Rate knob, the Presets drop down button
provides access
to the arpeggiator section presets.
