FabFilter updates Pro-MB and Pro-Q 2 including Retina support, announces Holiday Sale

December 12, 2014

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FabFilter has just released updates for both FabFilter Pro-Q 2 and Pro-MB. FabFilter Pro-MB gets some great new features that were first introduced in Pro-Q 2, like Full Screen mode, interface resizing, horizontal zooming and side chain spectrum visualization. And best of all: both plug-ins now feature Retina support on OS X and High DPI support on Windows.

Frederik Slijkerman, co-owner of FabFilter Software Instruments: "Now that high resolution displays are becoming more mainstream, we are genuinely excited to take full advantage of them in our plug-ins. The result is beautiful and also just very pleasant to use with crisp text and ultra-sharp display curves."

In addition, FabFilter announces a Holiday Sale running until January 1, offering 25% discount on all plug-in bundles in the online FabFilter shop: www.fabfilter.com/shop. During this sale, customers who already own one or more FabFilter plug-ins can login to their account at www.fabfilter.com/myaccount and purchase additional plug-ins with 25% discount or more via their Personal Upgrade Offer.

What's new in Pro-MB 1.10?

  • Added Retina support on OS X and High DPI support on Windows.
  • Added a new Large interface size, in addition to the existing Normal interface size.
  • Added Full Screen mode for super-precise adjustments.
  • Added horizontal zooming in the display.
  • It is now possible to move a band horizontally while holding down its solo button.
  • Added a Side-Chain option to the real-time spectrum analyzer.
  • Updated the AAX plug-ins to report the current gain reduction to Pro Tools so it can be visualized in the mixer and in control surfaces.
  • Minor improvements and bug fixes.

What's new in Pro-Q 2.02?

  • Added Retina support on OS X and High DPI support on Windows.
  • Introducing Solo Gain. While soloing a band, you can now adjust the listening gain by moving the mouse up and down.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Gain Scale slider (in the output section) not to work in Linear Phase mode, and improved its behavior in Natural Phase mode.

These updates are fully compatible with previous versions, and free for existing FabFilter Pro-MB and Pro-Q 2 owners. The latest versions and 30-day trials of all FabFilter plug-ins are available for download now at www.fabfilter.com/download.

FabFilter Pro-Q 2 is available for EUR 149, USD 199 or GBP 124, and FabFilter Pro-MB is available for EUR 169, USD 229 or GBP 139, supporting both Windows and Mac OS X in VST and VST 3, Audio Units, AAX, RTAS and AudioSuite plug-in formats. Bundles with FabFilter Pro-Q 2, Pro-MB and other FabFilter plug-ins are also available at: www.fabfilter.com/shop.

System requirements on Windows are either Windows 8, 7, Vista or XP and a VST 2/3 host or Pro Tools, or Mac OS X 10.5 or higher with Intel processor, and an Audio Units host, VST 2/3 host, or Pro Tools. Both 32-bit and 64-bit hosts are supported.
