(Topic) Mono Version of Simplon

Hi! Did I do something wrong in the installation process or is Simplon (the simple filter) only available in Stereo? I love my FabFilter plugins and use them on all my tracks but struggle with this one. I know you can accomplish the same thing with Volcano but I really like the simplicity and efficiency of Simplon.

Hi Bogdan, In the AU version the side-chain is not shown if there is no audio playing on the track itself. So even if the track you're side-chaining from is playing audio, as long as there is no signal in the plug-in you will not see any activity inside the whole plug-in. Are you sure both tracks are playing audio? If so, can you please send us a small video to info@fabfilter.com so we can have a look?

Setting all instances to a different processing mode is not always the best thing to do. Surely there are situations where linear phase processing might be crucial, but in most cases zero latency or natural phase mode might even be preferable. Same goes for oversampling; not all applications benefit from the same amount of oversampling. Especially with today's computer power available, we feel there's more harm to be done using default offline settings than there are advatages. Besides...

It sounds like a mapping inconsistency between how the plugin exposes parameters and how EUCON interprets them, especially with filter types where slope and shape can overlap internally. You might want to check if the plugin is sending different parameter IDs depending on band mode, as that can confuse the surface mapping. I ran into something similar before where controls didn’t line up as expected it reminded me of how sometimes in games you expect one input but get another result...

With at least the last two updates of the total bundle it is possible in the Mac version to install just the format(s) you want/need).
