Daniel Davies is a Los Angeles-based composer, musician and producer who blends electronics with traditional orchestration. In his recent scoring work, he carves sonic worlds from a combination of vintage synthesizers and soft synths, guitars, and percussion.
Davies has been co-writing and producing with John Carpenter and his son Cody since 2014. They recorded Lost Themes (2015), Lost Themes II (2016) and Anthology Movie Themes 1974-1998 (2017). Each release were followed by multiple tours across America and Europe for which Davies was the musical director and lead guitarist. The trio also composed the score to the most recent installment of Halloween (2018).
Davies’s debut solo album "Events Score" was released in Fall 2018. It recalls the BBC Radiophonic Workshop’s forward-thinking incidental music from the 70’s, whose experiments with emerging electronic music technology generated soundtracks for films and programs not yet made.
