Upgrading to Saturn 2

Upgrading from Saturn version 1 to the new Saturn 2 is safe and easy: installing Saturn 2 will not replace or delete the previous Saturn 1 plug-in. Both versions will co-exist and can both be used at the same time. This ensures that you can open old songs that use Saturn 1 without problems!

Saturn 1 presets

All presets created with Saturn 1 can be loaded in Saturn 2. If you upgraded from Saturn 1 to the new version, your original Saturn 1 presets will be accessible via the V1 Preset Folder item in the preset menu. See also Loading presets.

Replacing a Saturn 1 instance by Saturn 2

If you are working on a song and want to replace a Saturn 1 instance with the new Saturn 2, we recommend to do the following:

1. Open the Saturn 1 instance, right-click the preset button at the top, and click Copy in the popup menu that appears.
2. Remove the Saturn 1 instance and replace it with Saturn 2.
3. Right-click the preset button in Saturn 2, and click Paste to paste the copied settings.

Note: to use copy and paste, you need the latest version of Saturn 1.

Automation

Because the feature set of Saturn 2 has changed fundamentally, any automation data that has been written by a Saturn 1 instance cannot be read correctly by Saturn 2.
