Julian Slater
As a supervising sound editor, sound designer and re-recording mixer for feature film, Julian Slater has worked with various directors such as Tim Burton, Richard Curtis and Edgar Wright. Over the years, he has been nominated for several Primetime Emmy Awards, BAFTA awards and more.
"My role is to work with a director and help them realise their dream of what they want from the soundscape. Sound should be much more than a reflection of what is on the screen. Good use of sound is a platform for creative story telling. With sound you can create or reinforce emotional content. I try to work on a project from as early as possible. Getting involved in the concept stuff can be very rewarding both personally for me and for the project as a whole. Whats great about mixing is that I truly do get to see the process through from the start t the end."
