BINKBEATS

BINKBEATS (real name Frank Wienk) was educated as a classical percussionist. After playing for and touring with many bands and groups, he started working solo as BINKBEATS in 2013.

With the 'Beats Unraveled' series, Frank covers electronic music artists like Flying Lotus, Caribou, Aphex Twin or SBTRKT, playing their songs from scratch with acoustic instruments, looping them and modifying the sound. He is now working on his solo album, which should be released in 2016.

"I learned about FabFilter through Bas Vermolen and Simon Akkermans. Bas made all the 'Beats Unraveld' movies and occasionally did some mixing/mastering for the audio of those movies. Together with Simon Akkermans I'm mixing my own album and saw the FabFilter plug-ins again, like FabFilter Pro-Q 2. What I noticed was that the interface of the plugins was super user-friendly and the sound quality very good!"
