Jake Cochran

Jake Cochran, drummer, producer, engineer, writer, and one half of the rock band Illiterate Light, balances his time between studio work and tour. Now based in Richmond, Virginia, Jake’s production focus is on developing Virginia artists and providing a comfortable, exciting, and collaborative process for each project. With a background in rock music, Jake's sweet spot is live tracking with a raw experimental curiosity and the desire to explore sonically with each song. "When the song is right and the artist feels understood, the studio becomes a playground. I've learned to value that time with the artist above all else and to trust myself as a guide." Recent work includes: Wes Parker, Palmyra, Sally Rose, and Wildermiss.
