Marc Carolan

Marc Carolan is a sound/mix engineer from Dundalk, Ireland. His clients include Muse, The Cure, Snow Patrol, Cesare Cremonini and No Party for Cao Dong. Marc works in both studio and live situations and enjoys bringing the strengths of each discipline to the other.

"Dynamics and colour are my obsessions, and am very partial to a good eq! In the past I’ve used a lot of large analog formats in the live domain, but have recently opted to use a more hybrid approach, as digital formats have evolved to offer new harmonic possibilities. Currently listening to Biffy Clyro, Charlie XCX, The Strokes and Orbital. Rich Costey, Mick Guzauski and Tchad Blake are my mix influences."

Marc Carolan and FabFilter

"As someone who’s obsessed with harmonic colour, Saturn 2 is my new knife to go through mix 'butter'. The incredible user interface opens new sonic paths in an incredibly intuitive way."

"FabFilter Pro-Q 3 is my 'every session, every track' plug in and Pro-L 2 has got me out of more sticky situations than I’d care to admit!"
