Gethin Pearson
Gethin Pearson started out as a teenage music fan and working in a record shop. Gethin has always been obsessed with how songs make him feel and how records are made. Whilst pursuing individual and band based projects, Gethin began exploring creative ways to record in a converted coal shed. It’s here that Gethin began to be noticed for his conscientious listening and drive to develop the sonic visions of the artists he works with.
Gethin’s vast range of writing, production and mixing credits include: Bloc Party frontman’s Kele Okereke critically acclaimed solo album ‘2042’, and the Mercury Prize Winner Badly Drawn Boy’s album ‘Banana Skin Shoes’, of which Gethin also co-wrote the title track (2020). His other credits include Crystal Fighters, whenyoung, Orla Gartland, Jaws, Alma ft French Montana and Charli XCX. Gethin has also been working with upcoming artists Kennyhoopla, Walt Disco, The Tyne and Lazy Day.
Having just set up the ‘INSTITUTE OF SONIC ARCHITECTURE’, a residential recording studio in West Wales, Gethin now has the freedom to create on his own terms alongside artists he believes in.
Gethin Pearson and FabFilter
"I was first introduced to the FabFilter plug-ins when I was sent a session to work on and a range had been used. I downloaded the demos so I could pick up from where the track had been left and was blown away by what they could do. They have the perfect balance of technical proficiency and functionality yet always feeling musical and creative."
