Tom Lord-Alge
Tom Lord-Alge, a three-time Grammy Award winner, owns one of the industry’s most prolific discographies, with diverse credits spanning U2, The Rolling Stones, P!nk, Peter Gabriel, Dave Matthews Band, Blink-182, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Avril Lavigne, and many others.
Beginning his career at Unique Recording in NYC, Tom won his first of two "Best Engineered Recording" Grammys in 1986 for recording and mixing Steve Winwood’s Back In The High Life. During this period he scored his first big break producing, engineering, and mixing "If You Leave" by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark for the Pretty in Pink soundtrack. He won his second Grammy in 1988 with Winwood’s follow up, Roll With It. With Crash Test Dummies’ God Shuffled His Feet (1993), featuring their hit “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm”, and Live’s multi-platinum Throwing Copper (1994) Tom kickstarted his mix career.
More recently, Tom's mix projects include a new studio album from Live's The Turn, Kensington's Rivals (Universal), Weezer's Everything Will Be Alright in the End (Republic), recording and mixing the DVD of a live stadium show for the Japanese mega band One OK Rock, and tracks for Angels and Airwaves, Ash Koley, and Crosses.
Tom Lord-Alge and FabFilter
"I first came across FabFilter plug-ins while mixing an album for the band Live at their York PA. Studio. I was re-introduced to them recently while mixing the new Kensington CD. Now that I have my own mixing studio, SPANK Studios in South Beach, I have the time to real explore these great sounding plug-ins!"
