James Hannigan

James Hannigan, BAFTA Award winner and five-time BAFTA Original Music nominee, credits include entries in the multi-million selling Harry Potter, Command and Conquer, The Lord of the Rings, Warhammer, EA Sports and Theme Park game series, and television shows such as BBC America’s Primeval and Vietnam in HD. His recent projects include EA's Dead Space 3 and forthcoming MMO, Transformers Universe.

As happy working in the studio as he is recording live music, James has worked with many renowned soloists and ensembles, as well as orchestras around the world – including The Philharmonia, the Skywalker Symphony Orchestra, The Chamber Orchestra of London and the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra — recording at locations such as Abbey Road Studios, Skywalker Ranch, Phoenix Sound and Air-Lyndhurst.

A regular interviewee on BBC Radio and an active panelist and speaker at conferences around the world, James has been profiled in numerous magazines and books, ranging from Audiomedia, Post, Develop, Resolution and Film Score Monthly to Tom Hoover's book, "Keeping Score: Interviews With Today’s Top Film, Television and Game Music Composers”.

James Hannigan and FabFilter

"I've been using FabFilter Volcano 2 for some time now, and it's one of the best and most accessible filter plug-ins I've ever had the pleasure of working with. In fact, there aren't many tracks of mine created in the last few years that don't use it in some shape or form - that's how indispensable it has become. It's my 'go to' plug-in when I want mangle a sound, create rhythmic effects or new textures, play with filter sweeps or pretty much anything else needing added character. The results are a lot more musical than some other filter plug-ins I could mention, and that's why I believe FabFIlter Volcano to be an invaluable tool for composers."
